NOTICE OF PLEBISCITE
BOW RIVER IRRIGATION DISTRICT
PROVINCE OF ALBERTA
TAKE NOTICE that a plebiscite will be held for the purpose of seeking approval of the irrigators to change the expansion limit of the Bow River Irrigation District from the existing limit of 295,000 acres to 320,000 acres. Additional information regarding the proposed change is available to the public at the offices of the district and at www.brid.ca.
An advance poll for the plebiscite will take place on the 6th day of February, 2025, between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. The advance voting station will be located at:
Bow River Irrigation District Office at Vauxhall, Alberta.
The plebiscite will take place on the 12th day of February, 2025, between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M.
Voting stations will be located at:
Milo Community Hall at Milo, Alberta, and;
Enchant Community Hall Meeting Room at Enchant, Alberta, and;
Bow River Irrigation District Office at Vauxhall, Alberta.

Capital Assets Charge
The current capital assets charge to add new irrigation acres is $3,000 per acre. The board has agreed that if expansion is approved the capital assets charge is expected to increase to between $4,000 per acre and $5,000 per acre, and that staged payments are a possibility. These decisions will be finalized if and when an expansion bylaw is passed.
